WAIT!...Before you scroll down to see the cute 'Santa holding babies' pictures, here's a little explanation. Evie has a thing about dogs. She loves them. Or the idea of them. If she even thinks she hears or sees a dog, she starts barking and getting excited. However, if said dog gets in her personal space, she freaks out. Apparently the same thing is true of Santa. Anytime she sees anything Christmas related she hollars out "Ho Ho!!!" repeatedly until we acknowledge that thing or she gets tired of hollaring. This brings me to our Santa visit this season. Last year we got lucky and happened upon a very nice looking Santa in the middle of the children's department in Belk. Evie was asleep at that particular time so we gently laid her in Santa's lap and got our picture. This year we took her and John to the Galleria to visit the 'real' Santa. We were about 25 kids back in line when Santa came off of his lunch break. Evie got to see him come out and dance around to the music and see all the kids in front of her sit on his lap. She was very excited the entire time, telling us all about Ho Ho...until it was her turn. When we tried to get her to sit with Santa, she refused to sit in his lap (maybe that's a good thing) and kept jumping down off the bench and trying to run. The following is the resulting picture:

That cracks me up! I had to sit on Santa's lap in my picture. I got so excited thinking that Lakyn would sit in his lap this year b/c she was doing the same thing talking about him and waving at him in the line. As soon as grandpa and grandma put her up there she started screaming mommy!!!
