Okay...so its been a month and there has been no activity on the blog. Sorry. We've been a little busy. We've been scraping our house away and we're almost to the point where we can take a breath. I will be putting pictures up soon...as soon as I get them off of the camera and have a spare moment to upload them. We are thisclose to being done with the upstairs portion of the house. Two more days worth of painting and we'll be ready to call in the floor guys. Good Lord willing. This has definitely been a learning process. In more ways than one. Lesson number one: make sure you're painting with the correct paint formula. Otherwise, years later, the people who buy your house will have to spend 100 hours scraping off your mistake. Lesson number two: DIF is a miracle worker. Wallpaper doesn't stand a chance. Lesson number three: Why wallpaper anyways? Its sooooo much harder to change than paint. And finally, if you're not going to have stained trim and baseboards, don't try to make it look that way with brown paint. Its ugly and hard to cover up. Oh the seventies. The world would have been a much prettier place if we had skipped that decade.
A few updates on things that have happened since the last post....Yes, the cat has a name now. Its Rikki. Like the mongoose. Yes, she's a girl and will probably have gender issues, especially after we get her 'equipment' taken out, but the name fits.
Ashley and Chad are finally engaged ;-) . Stay tuned for updates on that. And Thomas turns one year old today!
Oh, one more thing...I wanted to say thanks to all the people who came to help us work on Saturday. I know that most of them probably won't see this blog, but for the record...Friendship Baptist Church rocks! We wouldn't have made the progress that we did this weekend if it wasn't for them.
